Walls come tumbling up.

This was the original back wall of the house (as for as we can tell). Each original support stud was rotten in one way or another. Now, look, a new kitchen wall (a new 2x6 wall) built on a solid kitchen floor (not shown in foto):


And as you can see, since the stove is still there, the kitchen is bascially finished.

Instant Basement Shower Installation

Some things are easier than others, for instance, yesterday, with the help of only a sawz-all, Ray took a shower in his basement. Here's how:

Start by ripping rotten wood from future kitchen floor:


Then go into the basement and accidentally cut the live water pipe to the second floor; carefully missing the 1st floor water pipe that has been shut off:

Done.


For extra credit, fix the mistake:


And, hell, why'll you're at it, spend all day, thinking you're a plumber, and attempt to install a hose faucet.



Then, rinse and repeat: Maybe this time cut the right pipe.
