The Service Team (back of the house)

The Service Team (866-766-2357) came out between Christmas and New Years Eve. They got under my first floor with jacks and shovels and saws and cement blocks and brand new, pressure treated beams. Here's the job from the back of the house.

Out with the bad.

These were the beams supporting the house. No wonder I sagged and leaned and tilted.

These are my new beams.

And this is my new floor joists in the back room.

Built over my new crawl space.

Oh no, Todo, I landed on the Wicked Witch.

Here's my fabulous entrance hallway. Watch your first step.

You can check in; but you can't check out.

Welcome, to my balance beam architecture.

Let's put in a back door first

Ray had a simple plan: put in a back door. A normal sized back door. But I had a few suprizes up my sleve. And under my carpet, if you know what I mean.

He started with an almost livable room.

Added a hole in the back wall.

Threw debris in back yard with dead pears.

Discovered that the rear beam of the house is rotten.

Dug out new footings to take support of new rear beam.

Suprise! Ray discovered entire floor is rotten, ripped it out; and he dug out a crawl space -- with the help a few workers.

The he boarded it up and called professionals.

Professionals, camera shy professionals. What happened to my almost livable back room?
